Half Day Fused Glass Workshop

Workshop Details

In this workshop you can produce your own choice of objects such as glass bowls of various shapes, coasters, wall hangings, flowers, trinket trays or sun catchers. The choices are endless! The largest piece you can make will be up to a maximum of 25cm square in a half day, with the opportunity to make a couple of smaller pieces too if you have time. There is a limit of 3 people per workshop enabling much faster learning. The advantage of a small class is that you can experiment with many different effects and techniques with an experienced Glass Artist on hand for true one to one learning. There is a minimum age limit for insurance purposes of 16 years or older unless accompanied by a guardian who is also booked onto the course. Areas covered: design, scoring and glass cutting, fused glass compatibility, firing cycles, slumping, the 6mm rule, types of glass such as frit, stringers and powders, inclusions, and many other areas and decorative techniques. The fusing and slumping in the kiln will take place after the workshop and the results can be collected, or posted to you at an additional cost. Please ensure you wear closed toe shoes for safety reasons. Tea and coffee will be provided for all sessions. The session duration is 3 hours.
